Freediving School in Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is perfectly situated between Bali and Lombok in Indonesia. Gili Trawangan is a tiny coral-fringed paradise, surrounded by white sand beaches and an array of stunning reef fish. The largest of the three Gili Islands, Trawangan offers a beautiful balance of activity and tranquility and is the perfect place to embrace the simple life. With beautiful beaches, warm tropical water and abundant marine life, Gili T is an idyllic spot to freedive whether you are learning or training with us for days on months!

Gili T is small enough that there is no need for motorized vehicles! Local transport is by foot, bicycle or cidomo (local horse cart) which is a delightful relief from modern life and the traffic in Bali. The main “road” that runs around the island is about 7 km and takes an hour and a half to walk around. You can fill your days with the island’s many activities like freediving, yoga, scuba diving, cycling, horse back riding, swimming, snorkeling, sun bathing, partying and relaxing. Gili Trawangan is graced with amazing views of a striking sunrise over Gunung Rinjani, the volcano on Lombok and a breath taking sunset over Bali’s sacred volcano, Gunung Agung.

Gili Trawangan caters to all budgets from backpacker to luxury traveller. Accommodation ranges from simple, local style bungalows to secluded, private villas. Our accommodation offers a perfect balance of calm in the heart of the island. Our rooms have been built with the active traveller in mind, creating a peaceful atmosphere for you to rest and relax between island adventures. Leave all the hassles behind and stay with us while you are on a course or training so that you can just wake up and freedive!

Gili T is an eco friendly island dedicated to conservation programs and education to increase environmental awareness and maintain the charm of the paradise island we know and love. If you are interested in getting involved in any of the Gili Eco Trust’s projects while you are here there are plenty of ways to help from beach clean ups to volunteering at the local school.
